“You say that your mother, who bore you
In her womb in this life, was kind.
‍But why, then, do you not consider even once
The kindness of other beings who helped you,
Your parents from countless lives in the past?”
Shabkar (1781-1851) – Translated by Adam Pearcey (Lotsawa House)

Kamalashila Initiative's Spring 2022 Announcement

In 2020 and 2021, the UCI-TIbet Initiative (UCI-TI) was forced to shut down indefinitely due to COVID-19 after hosting 29 Visiting Scholars from India since 2011. Today, we are excited to announce a new chapter in our story.

Starting immediately, UCI-TI will now be known as The Visiting Scholars Program (VSP) facilitated under a new organization, Kamalashila Initiative (KI). KI will begin this exciting new chapter as a fiscally sponsored project of the Ngari Institute Foundation (NIF). Click
HERE for more information about KI and its VSP.

Kamalashila Initiative is also excited to announce that it plans to welcome 3 new Visiting Scholars to UCI this Spring Quarter 2022! Now that UCI funding is no longer available, we need your support to fund VSP this quarter. Please consider donating by clicking
HERE. Your donation will be a tax-deductible gift and will directly fund the tuition, housing, and meal plans for our 2022 Visiting Scholars. Thank you for your support!
